Alex brought a proposal for how to move water harvested from the small butt to the large butt using a solar panel and pump which he is going to trial.Alex to purchase required items and trial the new system.
7.Community Centre collaborationBetter communication needed between the centre and the garden for clarity but overall the Growing Together sessions have been positive.
A lady from the council (funding) attended unexpectedly to observe and was very impressed by the event.
Cal is going to lead on filling the new planter and tidying in front of the centre at the next Growing Together session.
8.Public use of community gardenA few people have asked if the garden is open to come and sit in. This was discussed taking into consideration that we are next to a playgroup and some of our plot holders are single women who come to the garden alone. There is a concern from SCC that the garden could be used by homeless people. In view of this, the suggestion was that in addition to memberships for plot holders and volunteers, we add a friend of the garden status which would allow people to use the garden responsibility.Committee are to consider this before the next meeting. In the meantime, anyone who expresses a wish to sit in the garden can be informed that the garden can be accessed during the monthly work party session. Alex to publish opening times on the public events page on the website.
9.Second greenhouseOptions: place wooden one on one of the plots or put aluminium one next to the community centre. To be discussed at a later date.
10.Second pondTo be discussed in a future meeting.
